WHY OWNERS CALL US
You can feel that something's off before you can point at it.
"My bookkeeper doesn't understand my business"
"I don't get any financial information until after month end"
"I know I'm making money but it's going out the door just as fast"
"I don't know what I'm missing"
WHAT WE FIND WHEN WE OPEN THE BOOKS
Everything journalized off the bank statement, with no real transactions behind it.
Unpaid invoices in the operating system that don't match what the books show.
Uncategorized used as a parking spot whenever the information is missing.
Inaccurate or non existent COGS
Plugged amounts booked to expense account to force a balance.
A single miscategorized transaction distorting several statements at once.
Cash and accruals applied inconsistently by someone who didn't know the difference.
HOW IT WORKS
The mechanism behind the name.
01
Source Documents
Invoices, receipts and supplier statements, reconciled line by line and attached to the transaction inside your system. Your backup lives where the entry lives.
02
Continuous Reconciliation
Your information is processed as it arrives, on a regular cycle. Your books stay current through the month instead of piling up for a month-end push.
03
Systems & Automation
We optimize how financial data moves through your business, so the data itself improves rather than the reporting layered on top of it.
04
Business Read
We interpret what the numbers mean for your business and flag what needs your attention, the way an operator would.
LEVELS OF SUPPORT
Where your business sits, and where it could be.
Most businesses start at the first level because that is what was available to them. The distance between the first and the second is the difference between recording a business and understanding one.
Level One
Typical Bookkeeping
Records the past well enough to file. Built for compliance, not for decisions.
The bare minimum to stay compliant with government filings
Little to no insight into how the business is actually performing
No forecasting and no working budget
Plugged numbers standing in for real ones so the books balance
Revenue lost to billing and invoicing that never got caught
Payroll errors, and the liability that follows them
No audit trail and no backup behind the entries
Your financial information sitting somewhere your business does not control
Typical Bookkeeping
Payroll run as data entry, with compliance on you
Errors surface at year-end, after the liability has already accrued
Source and support for each run is thin or missing entirely
Level Two
Better Than Bookkeeping
Controller-level financial management. Your numbers become something you can run the business on.
Current information that drives the decisions in front of you
Visibility into where your revenue is actually going
Accurate operational costing
Real job costing and detailed project-level data
Accurate invoicing and billing that stops revenue leaking out
Auditable records with documentation behind every entry
Forecasting and budgeting built on numbers that hold up
The bigger picture across the whole organization
Confidence in your numbers, so you can grow at the right pace
Redline Payroll
Compliance handled as part of the work, not discovered afterward
Reconciled and documented to the same standard as the rest of your books
Led by payroll compliance certified professionals
Available as an add-on when you need it.
Level Three
The Performance Build
People, process and technology optimized together. Where good information turns into capacity.
Revenue growth without proportional growth in headcount
Technology integrated to work for the business instead of around it
Measurable gains in productivity across the organization
Systems that hold up as the business gets bigger
A workplace that attracts and keeps top performers
The confidence and the resources to grow deliberately
Build your business' performance engine
Productivity

Where Better Than Bookkeeping stops: as we work in your numbers, we see the inefficiencies causing them, the manual handoffs, the duplicate entry, the process that made sense at half the size. We will identify those and show you what a fix would look like. Building that fix is separate work, and it is where Redline’s optimization services pick up.
WHAT THIS TAKES
This only works if the information reaches us.
We don't do shoebox accounting.
A box of receipts can't tell you anything about your business, and nobody can build real information out of one. If you want better than bookkeeping, the shoebox has to go.
Oversight, not data entry.
We manage AP and AR oversight. Processing runs through an automated workflow or someone on your side feeding documents into the system. If you don't have that yet, we can design and build it as a separate piece of work.
We watch the flow and tell you.
When information stops arriving on a regular cadence, you'll hear it from us. Books stay current because the flow stays open.
